In a 1957 advertisement, Jaeger-LeCoultre presents the new automatic Memovox as “the world's first self-winding wrist alarm.” With this creation, Jaeger-LeCoultre combined two major technical advances in wristwatches of the time: the alarm mechanism and automatic winding. This 37-mm steel watch with reference number E855 features an elegant silver dial with a date window at 3 o’clock.<br /> Equipped with the self-winding Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 825 with alarm function, the watch is fitted with its original Gay Frères steel bracelet. Gay Frères was a renowned Swiss manufacturer specialising in high-quality metal bracelets, supplying many of the most prestigious watch brands. An additional black calfskin strap is also provided with the watch.<br />
